SHOWS UNHEARD SINCE THEY WERE LIVE START
JAN. 28 ON WPMD
January 19,
2006
Starting next
Saturday, January 28th at 4:00pm P.S.T. and continuing until just
before Memorial Day Weekend (maybe a little longer), "Many Moods of
Vince Daniels" programs that have not yet been repeated on W.P.M.D.
will begin in Vinnie's time slot. On January 21 will be show that
has been repeated in the past. It will air again in order to
provide some context to the subsequent episodes coming your way in the
weeks to follow. You can also catch that at 4:00pm.
The episodes that will air over the next several months include the
introduction of Mikey Mondavi as co-host during a series of politically
themed shows that aired during the fall of Campaign 2004. Show
#30 will air on January 21st and while it has been replayed in the
past,
this is because it functions as a stand-alone episode in addition to
being Part 1 of a 2-part arc. Part 2 (show #31) which airs on January
28th is also Part 1 of an 8-part political arc.
On January 21st and 28th, you'll hear the two part "Vince Daniels
story." Also on January 28th you'll hear various pundits gather
to discuss the upcoming Presidential election. More of that
punditry continues on February 4th, and then on show # 33 scheduled to
air on February 11th, Mikey Mondavi makes his debut. The
political shows ended with show #38 after the January '05 inauguration
of President Bush. After that, "The Many Moods" went back to its
normal variety format, but W.P.M.D. will skip the next 5 episodes and
pick it up with #44.
Show #44 begins another 8-part arc that ushered in a new crew,
including two new co-hosts, relegating Mikey Mondavi to his new role as
"Political Editor." By the time this series of shows ends with
#51, a lot of behind-the-scenes drama (including the unexpected loss of
the new crew and a blow-up between Daniels and Mondavi that ended their
freindship for a few months) would finally culminate with Vinnie and
Mikey patching things up and Mondavi returning to his co-host chair one
more time before going back home to Georgia. (Editors note:
Mondavi flew out for the final show from W.P.M.D. last weekend).
Announcer Jay Boatman was just a thought in those days. You'll
hear him be introduced as Jason Barquero in a few of the political
programs over the weeks ahead. The same show that airs on
Saturday will encore the following day starting at 2:00pm P.S.T. except
for Easter weekend, April 15th and 16th when the station will air its
traditional marathon of "The W.P.M.D. Rock and Roll Hall of Fame." |
